Mundai Musical Bio

When Singer/Songwriter Mundai Owen was 7 years old she accidentally burnt down the family house in New York.

These days she "burns down the house" in the Bay Area with her spunky, soulful live performances.

Mundai was born in Neptune New Jersey and lived in New York, Colorado, Florida and California, all before she was 7. She moved to the San Francisco Bay Area as a teenager and started to perform live, fronting her father's band, Band of Angels, and later formed her own rock and blues band, Mundai's Monkey. Mundai released a CD, "Natural Selection" in 1998.

She has performed at the Roxy and Whiskey-A-Go-Go in LA, and Bay Area venues including the North Beach Festival and Fort Mason (where she opened for George Clinton). Mundai has performed with Narada Michael Walden at the Mill Valley Music Festival, and other notable musicians such as Neal Schon (Journey), Michael Carabello (Santana), Bobby Vega, Gail Muldrow (Graham Central Station, Family Without Stone), Greg Boyer (George Clinton & P Funk All Stars), Tommy Castro, David Rokeach (James Brown), and Ernest Carter (E Street Band).

Mundai's new self titled CD is her first collaboration with Alexander Doré. It is a funky departure from her previous recordings, and with sheer passion and versatility she delivers her convictions on life and love.
